“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”

Genesis 8:22
Bill Murray starred in the 1993 movie called Groundhog Day where his character is stuck in time and repeats the same day over and over again.
If your life was stuck on “repeat,” what might you miss? I’d miss the change of seasons, for sure. Imagine every day being winter! Or if you live in the south like I do, imagine every day being hot!
We love the change of seasons. Summer turns into fall with the start of school and the sounds of football games. Christmastime comes with decorations and hot cocoa. Winter gives way to glorious spring. Seasons give us fresh starts and a rhythm to life. Most importantly, they remind us that there is a Creator who is in control upholding “all things by his powerful word” (Hebrews 1:3).
Take a deep breath. The sense of summer nights just around the corner tells us that God is good and is ever on His throne. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge” (Psalm 19:1-2).
