“Jesus replied, ‘If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.’”

John 14:23
I imagine you have heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is.” I would like to change it to “Home is where the presence of God is.” I have lived in several places and have traveled all over the world, but in the end I feel most “at home” when I experience the presence of God’s love, no matter where I lay my head at night.
Your heart can be the very place the Father and the Son make their home. I’ve spoken with many inmates in prisons—some with no hope of ever being released—who have come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord. They realize that it is possible to know the loving presence of God living within them even from a jail cell.
To make your heart ready for Him, you are called to love God by following His teachings. What are the teachings of Jesus we are called to obey? All 613 commands are summarized as He told us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves (see Matthew 22:37-39). Loving God and others will build a house of love in your heart in which God will dwell.
