"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and
put their trust in the Lord."
(PSALM 40:3)

Psalm 96
Nothing ever seemed more enchanting to me than songwriting. I’d listen to my favorite artists and imagine their fulfillment as they composed and selected just the right lyrics. One day I decided to try to write a love song and was overjoyed when something squeaked out. Writing songs quickly became all I wanted to do.

But once I came to know Jesus, He changed everything in my life (2 Corinthians 5:17), and there was so much more to say. Now my love songs were written in overwhelming gratitude to Him, yet they could barely depict what He meant to me. Whether the world applauds or not, I want to spend my life using music to praise my Savior and help other people who need Him as desperately as I did know His love, healing,
and forgiveness.

He puts a new song of praise in everyone who comes to Him, one we may write, learn, hear, or simply feel inside. And He Himself becomes our song (Exodus 15:2, Isaiah 12:2, Psalm 118:14), the overwhelmingly beautiful melody and newfound harmony of our redeemed lives.
