“So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord or of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.”

2 Timothy 1:8
My friend (whom I’ll call Andres) was a missionary in one of the cities in the province of Pinar del Rio in Cuba. When I met Andres, he was 21 years old and passionate about Jesus. He was committed to expanding the kingdom of Jesus Christ in his community. At this early age in life, most young adults are laying up plans about a prosperous future and a profession that will see them into the future. Andres was thinking about his eternal rewards in heaven and the impact he could have for God’s glory. With limited transportation he was running a house church about 25 miles from his home. Nevertheless, he was all in.
Not every one of us is called to be a missionary, but all of us are called to be messengers of the Good News. It is hardly possible that a dedicated, fervent, and all in follower of Jesus can stay quiet about the gospel day in and day out. You and I are the plan for the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth. There is no Plan B! Jesus has entrusted you with the message of hope. Share it unashamedly with those around you.
