"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
(John 14:12)

John 14:5-14
These words seem almost too grand to be true. How could it be that we will do even “greater” things than Jesus has done? It’s a staggering thought that Jesus was with the disciples, but because He went to the Father, His Spirit now lives within us.

These “greater things” include evangelism, teaching, and acts of mercy and compassion – in short, the entire ministry of the church to the entire world…works which are greater because they will go out to the corners of the world, changing whole cultures as well as individuals.

The Spirit of Christ is alive within you in power and in strength. What could be too much for you to undertake with Jesus on your side? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that “believe” and “faith” are peppered amongst the words of the Savior here. He knows the gap between our knowledge and our faith and that we need help to truly believe. Never stop bringing the love of Christ to your family, your neighborhood, your world. For “the one who calls you is faithful and he will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
