“But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Luke 22:32
Sin is awful. The world makes light of it though, even proudly nicknaming a city “Sin City” and attempting to normalize it through movies and culture. But God hates sin. Sin is any act or thought that goes against His perfect law. It permeates every part of our lives and world. The Bible tells us that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). As hideous as sin is, did you know that it can teach us and lead us to joy? It can!
When you are faced with your sin, you are faced with your need for Jesus. Only He can make you right with God. What do we find every time we look to Jesus in repentance and faith? We find a willing and able Savior! Sin is awful, but it points us to our Rock and Salvation. And it is there with Jesus that we find joy.
But wait! There’s more! When we have experienced forgiveness, we can forgive others. When we know the One who had no sin yet became sin for us so that “we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21), we can point others to Him also.
Rejoice in the God of your salvation!
