“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Romans 8:32
A wave of anxiety is washing over the lives of Christians today. Feelings of unhappiness, worry about the future, and despair overwhelm us. There could be medical or financial reasons for our anxieties, but most of us would have to admit we suffer from a lack of trust in the Sovereign God. We may decide to trust earthly treasures rather than heavenly ones, or to rely on our limited human power instead of the limitless divine power of Jesus. Or perhaps our anxieties devastate us simply because we think we know more than God.
Anxiety is not new to God. The Bible urges us often to cast our anxiety on Him. If you’ve ever traveled to the beautiful island of Cuba, you would see that Christians there fight to stand up against life’s anxieties, too. They share many of the same feelings of despair and concern as we do—and then more! Cubans worry about their daily provision, their living conditions, their freedoms. When it seems like your world is crashing in on you, cast your cares on the One who gave His very life to see you through.
