"Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise
and fame in every land..."
(ZEPHANIAH 3:19, NKJV)

Zephaniah 3:14-20
The Lord wants us to take in the fact that He will deal with all that oppresses us. Whether real-life opponents or something more sinister and stealthy (perhaps inner tapes that play over in our minds, accusing and condemning), the Lord promises to deal with them all for us. The Good Shepherd assures us that we will know His voice and will not listen to the voice of the enemy (John 10: 4-5). In v.17 of our reading, the Lord tells us how He will speak to us. He is the one who will save, who will “take great delight in us, [and] quiet us with his love.” Imagine the Lord calming all our fears and exulting over us by singing a happy song! If a little one is calmed by his mother’s tender lullaby, could anything be more comforting to us than knowing our Savior sings over us?

This is the Lord’s never-ending lullaby which quiets His children. It is a song of assurance that, whatever it is we need, He has done it all for us. He has taken everything that assails us and dealt with it permanently on the cross.
