"'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'"
(JEREMIAH 33:3)
Can you hear it? Have you felt the gentle voice of the Spirit? Sometimes a thought occurs to me that is foreign to my normal way of thinking, and I’ll dismiss it. But if I take a moment to recall my recent prayer requests, I often discover that the strange thought is an answer to prayer. I may have a flash of insight into a problem. Or perhaps suddenly recalling a Bible verse clarifies a troubling situation for me.
Have you ever listened to a Sunday sermon and marveled at how it seemed to be spoken just for you? Has a friend ever made a comment that hits you like a jolt of electricity, illuminating the error of your thinking?
All of these may be ways the Lord is communicating to us. His Spirit is always at work – in and around us. Jesus said, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working” (John 5:17). Stay familiar with His Word; may it be unforgotten in your home. Then, listen carefully to how His Word and the situations of your day are orchestrated to lead you through.
