“Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.”

Psalm 103:20
Angels have always been a subject of interest throughout the world. They are described in books, art, and movies as best as our human concept of them can imagine. In this psalm, David bids angels to praise God, and he describes them as mighty creatures, serving God and obeying His Word.
As David calls upon them to praise God, angels delight to fulfill His will. Think of how unwilling we are to obey God and how often we are preoccupied with things other than serving and praising Him. Although exalted over all angels, Jesus humbled Himself in obedience to God’s will. He came and became like us to save us from our sins.
Angels were there announcing and celebrating Jesus’ birth, and with His angels He will come again to bring into God’s presence all who believe in Him. Finally, we’ll understand angels beyond our paintings and sculptures. There we will forever praise God with all His people and with all the magnificent angels, “ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation” (Hebrews 1:14).
