"Such a high priest truly meets our need - one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners,
exalted above the heavens."
(HEBREWS 7:26)

John 6:37-40, 44;
Romans 9:10-18
In Philippians 1:6 Paul says, “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” What comfort to understand that it was God who began His good work in us! Many Christians miss that completely, believing that their decision for Christ comes before the new birth, and not the other way around. But to realize that God chose you is to understand that He will always protect you and keep you from falling.

Many are the ways in which Jesus protects His chosen ones. Foremost is that His Spirit keeps us from falling into unbelief or sin. He watches over and protects us from the evil one. He sets our feet on righteous paths, meeting all our needs. Nothing ever comes into our lives that He has not ordained, be it health and joy, or disease and death. “The LORD will… watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore” (Psalm 121:7-8). Truly He is our only comfort in life and in death.
