"...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion
until the day of Christ Jesus."
(PHILIPPIANS 1:6)

Romans 8:35-39;
1 Corinthians 1:8-9
It had been a week since I’d cried to Jesus to accept me and first experienced His miraculous peace. Now a Christian friend was visiting. As she talked about God, I kept thinking how much more spiritual she was than I, and I started doubting whether I could be a Christian after all. The endless joy that I thought I’d found seemed
to be evaporating.

Unexpectedly, my friend started singing to me: “He who began a good work in you… will be faithful to complete it.” I was dumbfounded. How did she know what I was feeling? What a strange, extraordinary encouragement.

The next day I was mulling over what happened when that song started playing on the radio. I felt stunned. The following day the same thing occurred. This went on for weeks. I couldn’t resist the message, and my
doubts disappeared.

Jesus will always help us to hold on to Him, no matter what our misgivings or how long we’ve known Him. He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2); He will perfectly fulfill what He originated.
