“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Genesis 3:15
There is a cosmic battle going on around you every day. It started the day Adam and Eve listened to the lies of the serpent. Notice in the words of Genesis 3, however, that though Adam and Eve received consequences for their actions, they are not directly cursed. God curses only the ground and the serpent.
There is a gracious gift for Adam and Eve, even in their most vulnerable, sinful state. God Himself makes a covering out of animal skins for them and makes a vow to the serpent that he will one day be defeated by the woman’s offspring. This is the earliest Christmas announcement in the Bible. Jesus would come as the warrior to crush the enemy and reverse the effects of the fall. The animal skins point to the ultimate shedding of blood necessary to cover the guilt and the shame of our sins.
You can find shelter in Jesus when you are weary from the battle with sin and the devil. You can find a cover from your guilt and shame. He gives you a robe of righteousness to wear and weapons to use in the fight.
