Are you a child of God through faith in His Son? Then He has promised to be your ever-present help. In a world of trouble, we as believers have the only sure thing to cling to—Jesus. When it truly feels like the earth is giving way, as if the raging waters of distress are foaming, that the mountains of hardship are quaking and surging, look to His promises.
He holds you in His loving arms so no one can snatch you from Him (John 10:28-29). He will never abandon you or leave you uncared for (Hebrews 13:5). He will meet all of your needs in every situation (Philippians 4:19). He will see you through each difficulty that comes your way (Philippians 4:13). In the heart of your trials, remember this: “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken” (Isaiah 54:10).
Don’t put your hope in a marriage counselor, a medical doctor, a 911 dispatcher, or even a faithful friend. When everything on this earth passes away, you’ll be safe in the grip of your Everlasting Father.
