“Fools do not understand, that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed.” Psalm 92:6b-7

Psalm 92
It seems that the wickedness of this world is unstoppable. When the conditions are right, evil sprouts up anywhere and everywhere. The wicked can grow quickly and in great number. They spread across vast lands and sprout even in the cracks. For the righteous, this can bring fear and worry, which is, of course, exactly what the Lord’s enemies want. They’d love for you to lose heart because of their strength, their number, and the spread of their power. Satan and his forces want you to think that God is weak and that they are strong.
But take courage. When this happens, we must remind ourselves that “the wicked sprout like grass.” The lifespan of grass is short. It may appear quickly and seem full of life, but remove the proper conditions, and the grass will quickly die. That’s how the mighty have fallen!
God lifts up the humble by giving them good King Jesus, the One whose kingdom has no end. “The grass withers and the flowers fall,” says the prophet Isaiah, “but the word of our God stands forever” (40:8).
