“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’’’

John 14:6
In this familiar passage Jesus seeks to calm His disciples’ fears about the future. He had just told them He will return to His Father’s house to prepare a place for them. But the disciples insist, “We don’t know the way.” Jesus assured them, “I am the way.” He is saying to all of us, “Follow me and I will bring you into my Father’s house.”
Christ’s death and resurrection are our doorway into the Kingdom of God. As we walk by faith through Christ’s finished work, we come into the truth that we have been resurrected into a new world as sons and daughters of the King. We are not prisoners. Satan does not hold us captive to sin. Doors of opportunity may have slammed shut on your life; they may even be locked. But Jesus provides a way past the strongest bars… it is through Him!
The Holy Spirit will open your eyes to see Jesus, empowering you to follow in His steps. Those are steps that will give joy and hope as you journey to the Father’s house. Having a “life sentence” there will be welcomed, because we’ll know life abundantly.
