"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16)

Matthew 2:9-12
The gifts we give this Christmas will be, hopefully, expressions of our love and appreciation for the recipients of those gifts. They will be carefully chosen to represent the individuality, special desires and interests of our friends and loved ones.

The gifts presented to Jesus by the Magi were heavy with significance: gold, a gift worthy of a king; incense, in recognition of Jesus’ deity (son of man and Son of God); and myrrh, a precious and costly burial spice used to anoint the body of one highly favored. How touching and truly amazing that God would use high ranking individuals from far lands to bestow tokens so clearly relating to Jesus’ deity, His purpose here on earth, and the death He would endure for our sakes.

This Christmas season, remember that Jesus was, and is, the most precious, befitting gift that was ever given. He is King of kings, Lord of lords, and sacrificial Lamb of God. There is nothing we must pay Him, but He longs for our love and surrender. Gift Him your whole heart today!
