"Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed."
(1 CORINTHIANS 1:7)

1 Corinthians 1:2-9
Our Christmas morning tradition was to give our kids stockings filled with small gifts while they waited for the larger gifts to be revealed later. They accepted them and were content for awhile, but they were aware that something greater was still ahead.

1 Corinthians 1:2-9 gives a list of the spiritual gifts that God has given those of us who are children in His family because we are in Christ. We are “sanctified,” “called to be His holy people,” given “grace and peace,” “enriched in every way – with all kinds of speech and knowledge.” We are kept “firm to the end, so that they will be blameless.” We “do not lack any spiritual gift.” All this is ours in Jesus!

We love what we have been given, accept it and are content while, in our spirits, we eagerly wait for the greatest and most wondrous gift of all to be revealed when our Lord Jesus arrives in person at His return. The gifts we have in Him now are ours to enjoy, but the best gift – Jesus Himself – is yet to come! Maranatha – Come Lord Jesus!
