"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped."
(Philippians 2:5-6)

John 13:1-17
I have friends who, instead of having a lavish feast with loved ones, spend Thanksgiving Day serving meals to the homeless at the local rescue mission. It is a gracious thing to do, and it demonstrates the love of Christ. They are obeying the Law of Christ by loving their homeless neighbors as themselves.

I saw an article in the Religion section of a newspaper about a former highly paid top chef at a gourmet restaurant who asked himself, “Is anyone who eats my cooking actually hungry?” He gave up his advantaged position and went to work for the local rescue mission. This chef fed the hungry homeless and even trained them in culinary skills that would help them to get restaurant jobs. He offered them a new life and resurrection of hope – he gave up his “life” for their benefit.

Consider now the Law of Christ – the love of Christ – and that you are one of the “least of these” to whom Jesus gave His advantage. He offered you new life and resurrection of hope – He gave up His life to secure eternal life for you!
