"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(JOHN 3:16)

Psalm 145
“God bless us, every one!” Even if you never have read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, you probably recognize that familiar last line of the book. Tiny Tim observed what many people miss: the Lord truly delights to bless His people! As wonderful a story as A Christmas Carol is, its themes ring a distant call to the greater “Christmas carol” that we read of in the Bible, the true story of how God really does change hearts. It’s the story of Jesus giving the best gift for the best reason in the best way so that we could have an eternal relationship with Him.

Think about God’s blessings to you over the past year: blessings of food, clothing, shelter, health, family, friends and freedom. Because of Jesus’ birth and sacrifice on the cross, our spiritual blessings abound.

We used to put our young children to bed singing “Count Your Blessings”. Sometimes we’d see who could name the most! On the eve of 2014, count your blessings, naming them one by one. May this remind you of all that God
has done!
