"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul,
firm and secure."
(HEBREWS 6:19)

Hebrews 6:13-20
Sometimes your comfortable life is hit by a sudden squall. Bad news or concern for a loved one reshapes your priorities. Perhaps betrayal of a trusted friend leaves an aching wound. Shattered dreams, depression, or doubt may begin to drag you away from your moorings.

Is it possible to keep from losing control? Yes, when you are controlled by a hope that cannot fail. Your anchor, though unseen, is your grip on all that is real, all that is eternal. It is secured by the Word of your God whose understanding of you is infinitely personal, whose love for you is without end, whose power to work on your behalf is without limit.

And then you are given this encouragement too: You are being held by Christ Himself! He who has been through it all has passed into heaven. He is anchoring you in God’s presence this very moment. You can rely on the One who is your security. It is true that your trouble is real, but your hope is even more real.
Give thanks that your anchor, Christ Himself, will most certainly hold.
