"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above,
not on earthly things."
(COLOSSIANS 3:1-2)

Colossians 3:1-4
My supermarket sells packaged salads from a company called Earthbound Farm. This morning my thoughts seemed especially “earthbound”- weighed down with concerns. I prayed the Lord would lift those burdens and replace them with thoughts of Him instead.

Our time on earth is brief, and yet we are consumed with earthly cares. It’s hard not to live “earthbound.” We all know that what is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18), but how can we reverse this habit in our thinking and living? One thing we might do is spend time alone with God in prayer. And is that all? We could come up with a good, long “to do” list for drawing close to God, but we’d probably end up right back where we started.

The “to do” list is done. Jesus crossed the last thing off when He died on the cross for us. He walked this earth, and He knows the consuming nature of life; He sees us through all of our cares and concerns. Because of His great sacrifice, we can live in the here and now not earthbound, but “heavenbound” instead.
