“There will be no night there…. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Revelation 21:25, 27Revelation 21
The house of the Lord! What feeble effort of mine could ever describe it? Even the world’s most stunning cathedrals can’t compare with the majesty of the house of the Lord. Nothing earthbound can.
David could envision himself at journey’s end— sling and rod and staff put aside. At last, he would enter the great fold where the walls are high, where 12 gates are secure with an angel at each one. The wall is of jasper; the inside of the city is pure gold. The glory of God fills it with crystal clear brilliance, and the Lamb of God Himself is the light!
I knew a frail lady who was near death in a hospital. She was fearful of what was ahead. The patient in the bed next to her attempted often to bring the dying one to Jesus. Efforts had failed until that morning when she turned her radio to the Haven of Rest broadcast. The message that very day was on heaven. As the program concluded, the dying lady received Christ as her Savior. Her final words to her roommate were, “Tell my friends I know now that heaven is real. And I am going there!”
What about you? Can you say with assurance, “I shall dwell in the house of the Lord”?
