"Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
(Matthew 28:19)

Matthew 28:16-20
If the Great Commission of the church is to “make disciples,” then “discipleship” ought to be the first item in a church’s mission statement. However, if you look at the broad evangelical American church today, you’ll see that many have lost or watered down their true mission. They quickly lose focus and become self-centered when programs and fellowship and entertainment are most important in the church.

Several times in the Gospels and in Acts, the Great Commission is given. It was Jesus’ parting command to us, His church, His body on earth, and yet we lose sight that it is our primary mission in this world. We seek self-actualization, a poor substitute for the grand mission we are given by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you ever feel like you have no purpose? Well, Jesus gave each of us the same mission. It is our prime directive. Get back to the basics of making disciples, and your personal purpose will be fulfilled. God gave the Holy Spirit to enable you to carry this out with the people He’s put in your life.
