“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”

Hebrews 1:3a
This month’s devotions have been looking at joy and the many reasons Christians can rejoice always, as Paul in Philippians 4:4 commanded us to do. Every single reason for our joy is rooted in Jesus. He is our never-changing, never-failing source of delight. We should be the most joyful people in the world!
Because of sin, the distance between God and man was so great that we had no hope of experiencing any of His goodness or blessing. Through Jesus, all of that has changed. He came into the world to save sinners and loudly proclaimed, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him” (John 7:38). Today He still calls out to us through His Word and is always present with us through the Spirit.
Take joy, my friends, in Jesus. Let your lives be an ongoing song of praise for the Father who held nothing back, for the Son who died for us, and for the Spirit who bears witness in us that we truly are the children of God.
