The sun was setting and I was getting anxious. My plan was to drive Amy to Anna Maria Island, across the bridge from Sarasota, Florida to watch the sunset. Instead, we were stuck in traffic. Finally, cars started moving. Amy and I arrived to sit in the pure white sand just in time. Brilliant gold gave way in the sky to deeper and deeper reds as the sun lowered toward the horizon. Some days our lives change forever. Acts 3 tells the story of the lame beggar whose life also changed in a single day. He asked for alms and received a miracle. Then he didn’t just walk; he worshiped! Luke records him following Peter and John into the Temple and makes a point of telling us twice that the man worshiped. This man was healed and restored in more ways than one. The Gospel says this: In the name of Jesus Christ, those “lame” in sin still today are healed to rise, to walk, and to worship.
AS WE LOOK BACK ON OUR LIVES AS CHRISTIANS, WE CAN ONLY BE AMAZED AT WHAT GOD HAS DONE. ALL THIS AND HEAVEN, TOO!
