Most of us like surprises. Yet don’t we love to get a hint about the surprise beforehand? You might say we want to minimize the surprise factor, be prepared, know if we’re going to like it or not. Especially if the surprise involves being blindfolded, we can’t wait to open our eyes. 
In the normal events of life, God often “keeps the blindfold on” us. For His own reasons, He prohibits us from seeing the true perspective of a situation. But when He divinely opens our eyes, we’re amazed. This was the case with Elisha and his servant who saw the horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:15-23), and it was the case with Jesus walking alongside His two followers on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-32). 
While in Cuba, I met a Cuban pastor who had been granted a visa by the government to give him unlimited travels in and out of the country. His eyes were opened to the need to continue evangelizing the island. He saw the glory of God as His light was shed on souls darkened by sin. Ask God to open your eyes and surprise you with His glory.
