"After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news
of the kingdom of God."
(LUKE 8:1)

Luke 8:1-10
Jesus was absolutely single-minded. His focus was on the good news of the kingdom of God. How would He explain that to people? Because this kingdom was different than any other on earth, He used easily understood human stories and natural illustrations.

For example, He said, “A farmer went out to sow his seed” (v. 5). The farmer had ample, adequate seed which he sowed all over and in such a way that everyone could receive some. We say, He “broadcast it.” Today’s farmer would be more careful, planting the good seed only on good soil.

But the point Jesus is making is that God is lavish; He wants everyone to be a harvest field. We might well ask, “Why does He sow the Gospel seed where it has little chance of producing a harvest?” We are used to farmers planting their seeds only in good, productive soil. Jesus spreads the seed prodigiously – on hard places, on weed-filled places, and in shallow places. And He also sows on good, fertile, plowed ground. Every seed that grows does so by His
marvelous design.
