"And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep."
(1 Corinthians 15:14, 20)

1 Corinthians 15:12-20
Like Greek communities in Roman times who had a hard time believing in bodily resurrection, many people today doubt Christ really rose from the dead. While we have replaced the Greek perspective with a scientific one, the bodily resurrection has become a stumbling block to coming to faith. Paul says you must believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ otherwise your faith is useless.

The resurrection of Christ is the centerpiece of the Christian faith because Jesus was the only one to be raised from the dead by His own power. All who believe in Him will follow Him just the same. The bodily resurrection is important not just because it proved what Christ said about Himself was true, but also it proved that we would live again like Him. If there is no resurrection at all, then Christ was not raised. If Christ wasn’t raised, then we won’t be either. The Christian faith is about new life in Christ. It is not about simply being a better person by following Christ’s teaching. Our faith in Him makes us new creations.
