"...I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command
is that you walk in love."
(2 JOHN 5-6)

2 John 4-6
The mark of Christians’ love for Christ is the love they have for one another. Jesus said,
“By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

Do you have this love for one another that Jesus told of? Particularly, do you have love for other believers? I confess that my brothers and sisters in Christ often offend and hurt me more than anyone else, and it grows difficult for me to respond in love. I have high expectations of their love to be like Christ’s love, and they often disappoint me. Then I recall the times that I – also a follower of Jesus – act without love to my friends in Christ. Would the people around me know I am a follower of Christ by the love I have for others? This is a question we all must ask.

Lord, forgive me for not loving even my own brothers and sisters in Christ as I am commanded. Fill me with your loving Spirit so that love pours out of me for them. Lord, make me a disciple and help me to walk in love each and every step I take today.
Amen
