Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
We thank God for the 19 years we had with Elizabeth. Our daughter was a joy to us. Her friends often commented on her joy…she danced in the rain, took photos of flowers as she hiked. In nearly every hiking photo of Elizabeth, you would see she had a habit of spreading her arms wide as if to say, “Don’t notice me. Look at this place! Isn’t it beautiful?” She wrote loving notes or called to chat. Her smile would light up the whole room.
At the beginning of all time, God could have placed us in factories, but He put us in families and communities. Thank God for fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, good friends, church family. If you lose a loved one, thank God for the time you had with them, for the wonderful memories you made together. Thank God for the impact they made on your life.
This Thanksgiving Day, treasure time with those who still surround you. Thank God for their help and comfort. And remember Jesus, the One who cared enough to die for you and has promised to never
