"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
(PSALM 100: 4-5)

Psalm 100
Even though we have just begun a new year, fond thoughts of the recent holiday season still linger in my mind. I especially love Thanksgiving time with its family gatherings, relaxed conversations and game-playing, and with its focus on the Giver of all good things.

Our church always holds a special Thanksgiving Dinner. People who don’t have family nearby are welcome to come and enjoy the food, the games or the singing around the piano.

Isn’t Psalm 100 the perfect psalm for that day? “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth” (v. 1). Every verse rings out with thanks to the Lord for His care. The psalm reminds us of the simple yet powerful truth that “the LORD is good” (v. 5).

And His faithfulness has indeed continued through all generations. I’m not referring just to His faithfulness to us materially, though that gives us much to be grateful for. The generations have been given the greatest gift ever in a Savior, Jesus Christ. May your heart well up with joy in the knowledge of that most astounding offering.
