“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”

Ephesians 2:19-20
The message of Christmas is that Jesus Christ is the ultimate revelation of God.
1 In history, God became flesh (John 1:14), shared in our humanity, and understood our deepest need. Jesus became our tabernacle, our temple, our priest, and our sacrifice.
He is the chief cornerstone of God’s family. Membership in God’s household is the miracle made possible through our faith in Him. “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).
After Christmas, we often enter into a season of resolution-making, rethinking our relationships and commitments, striving to do better. Hebrews 1:3 says Jesus sustains all things by His powerful word. That means that Jesus is the cornerstone for your resolutions! God’s household is your heavenly hub for prayer and reflection this new year. Let’s focus on Jesus, our solid Rock, through Scripture and through the phrases of Edward Mote’s timeless hymn, “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less.”
