And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…

Hebrews 10: 24-25
Just three months prior to my first job loss, we began worshipping at a new church. We could not have imagined at the time how the Lord was going ahead of us, giving us what He knew we would need in a church community that loved and accepted us.
When job loss appeared at our door, we saw God’s tender care through our church family. We were hurting; they were understanding and compassionate. Prayer support and financial gifts abounded for us. We never heard accusing questions or condemnation. Only words of wisdom and encouragement were given.
God’s sovereignty was profoundly evident. Jesus surrounded us with Himself through the people and leadership of our church. His love and affection were demonstrated by these precious sisters and brothers in the Lord. We will be forever grateful.
Find a good church home. You will need that support and encouragement to face the trial you’re in now or to face the trials that await you. In doing so, you will see the face of Christ in other believers, and you’ll see the body of Christ built up.
