“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”

Matthew 9:37-38
If you live in an area with changing seasons, you’ll know that harvest time was a couple months ago. It’s fairly short, but intense. When the crops are ready, the crew kicks into gear. Let me challenge you this year to think of December as harvest time… a harvest of a different sort.
More than at any other month of the year, it seems that around Christmastime the hearts of people are disposed to hearing about Jesus. You don’t have to look hard to see the needy souls that make up God’s harvest. Can you be available? Can you make a donation? Can you invite someone to your table? The harvest is now! When it is fall harvest time on a farm, the crew does not delay. They’re out the door early, anxious to get working. The orchard farmer doesn’t sit around hoping someone starts plopping apples in his lap. He knows the work he needs to do.
If we ignore the harvest God has shown us, the fruit will die on the vine. Go ahead and think of December as harvest time. The crop may yield bountiful blessings as others come to know Jesus.
