“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

James 4:14
A few times in my life I have had the opportunity to awaken to freshly fallen snow. The little girl in me still enjoys making that first set of footprints in the perfect, white wonderland. It’s like a blank canvas I claim to create on however I choose.
The New Year is a bit like that. The freshness God gives us as each year rolls around is exciting. What do we want to do differently, better, more of ? It’s as if all the regrets, failures, and griefs of 2018 will be covered in a blanket of pure white so we can start over come tomorrow morning.
People around the world will be ringing in the New Year with parties, champagne, and kisses at midnight. Let’s bring it in with the acknowledgement that this year belongs to God. Daily let’s equip ourselves to be who He has called us to be. Our time on this earth may vanish in 2019, so let’s run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2). Swing open wide the front door and run out into the freshly fallen snow to tread where God takes you.
