"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."
(Philippians 1:21)

Philippians 1:18-26
Personally, I think much of my failure as a Christian is that I live mostly for myself in this world. Does that resonate with you? Many of us live for Christ for an hour or so on Sunday mornings. Perhaps if we are “good” Christians, we’ll manage an additional hour or so a week in a Bible study or mercy ministry. Even though Jesus said that we are not of this world, we tend to live as if that is all there is. Practicing “Christ” briefly each week, we wonder why we fail in our daily living and why we fail as a church.

How was Paul able to live for Christ? By telling others about Jesus! “…Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice” (Philippians 1:18). When we do not let our words and our lives tell others about Jesus, we are missing our main purpose as Christ followers. Let others know how He redeemed you and saved you from your sin. Show them the loving relationship you have with the God of the universe, and then the joy of living for Christ will be evident. And you will see as Paul did that to live for Christ is indeed wonderful.
