“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

Romans 15:4
There is nothing in this world quite so precious as the written Word of God, the Bible. It is the source of so much that we need.
Encouragement and endurance come to us by the power of the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures. When one is tempted to lose heart and not press on in life, the Scriptures encourage us to continue to trust in the God who never fails to fulfill all of His good promises. His steadfast love, or covenant faithfulness, endures forever.
When we are tired and begin to fade, the Scriptures, by the power of the Holy Spirit, produce in us endurance so our faith remains in the God who never fails. We begin to live our lives with an eternal rather than temporary point of view. Some of God’s promises will come to us in the new heavens and new earth. We have much to look forward to! The fleeting joys we know in this life will pass away in time. Like Abraham, we anticipate a city whose builder and maker is God.
Let the very Word of God point you to Jesus, your only hope, the author and finisher of your faith.
