“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

1 Corinthians 15:58
My years of missionary service in Asia were wonderful. I was privileged to preach in a large church in South Korea one Sunday night. Because of using an interpreter, I limited my comments to 20 minutes, allowing for his 20 minutes and thus a 40-minute sermon altogether. But as I concluded, the pastor whispered into my ear, “Is that all you’ve got? My people are starved for the truth of God!” Needless to say, I kept going with my message!
These people would come to worship services having lived through the ravages of war, rebuilding, the threat of communism and war again. They gathered often to hear the Word of God, building their foundation of faith. They begged the Lord to help them stand firm, steadfast, stable in purpose, immovable, and faithful in times of opposition. Daily, at the crack of dawn after curfew was lifted, they were up, in their churches, beginning their day in prayer with a commitment to live and serve Him in the power of His resurrection. May we each begin our day resolute and happy to serve the Lord.
