When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

Psalm 8:3-4
I know that sometimes believers struggle with finding the words for adoration in their prayers. Perhaps we should start by opening our eyes and looking at all that is around us.
The glory of God is so wonderfully testified to in the beauty of creation. When we look at a stunning sunrise or sunset, when we gasp at the innumerable stars in the night sky, we are reminded of a Creator who is greater than all that we can see or even imagine. Creation bears witness to a magnificent Creator, and Scripture testifies that He cares intimately for His children. The psalmist is awestruck by such a thought. God set man over all the earth and the fullness thereof. By just looking at the particular fullness in our immediate word, we are filled with adoration for our Creator.
How great is our God! How majestic is the name of Him who reigns over the heavens and the earth. The One who created the universe through the word of His power knows each of us by name. He sent His only Son to save you and me. There is no greater love.
