"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he has loved us and sent his Son as an atoning
sacrifice for our sins."
(1 JOHN 4:10)

Revelation 5:6-14
As our wedding day drew nearer, worry set in – not about whether I wanted to marry Adrian, but about the weight of the commitment I was making. Would I be able to keep my promise to him? Was I worthy of receiving his vow to me? Getting married is no trivial undertaking.

When Christ takes us as His Bride, He doesn’t ask that we consider whether or not we are worthy. He doesn’t need us to think about how we can stay committed to Him. The day is approaching when we will stand before Him, ready to be received, and all we must do is think about our Bridegroom. Our Bridegroom is worthy and faithful. Paul writes that Christ, “being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:6-8)! What a beautiful Bridegroom to focus on. He is everything we can never be.
