"Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things."
(PSALM 107:8-9)

Psalm 107
Have you read the story in the New Testament about Jesus during the Feast of Tabernacles (John 7)? The people commemorated their wilderness walk when leaving Egypt by marching around the altars carrying branches. As they marched the eighth day, the priest would pour water on the altar. Verse 37 says that Jesus cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” He had the answer to their needs; He stood willing to supply living water.

Desert dwellers know every trickling stream or spring in their area. Those are the places they might need to refill a canteen. Even if they walk for just a few hours, they know to carry water along. This most basic of elements is exactly what we need. There is no other satisfaction for our weary souls than the simple, yet magnificent truth of the Gospel that comes from Jesus Christ, our Living Water. Through Him, there bubbles up in us a continuous spring of living water to share
with others.

Need a refill today? Jesus calls out to you, “Come to me
and drink.”
