“Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful… Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.”

Psalm 31:23-24
There are numerous stories in the Bible of people enduring long times of waiting on God—waiting for healing, or for victory, or for a baby, or for a miracle. Abraham and Sarah waited until they were approaching 100 years old for a son, the son of the Promise. The people of Israel waited 400 years to be freed from slavery. Yet God always shows Himself to be victorious. And then all the glory goes to Him.
Many of my friends in Cuba are in the midst of long stretches of waiting. Often they are waiting for the return of a loved one who has managed to leave the country. The friend or family member has gone to seek a better life and a better living for his or her family. But now the wait drags on. Those back at home wonder how long it will be. This was the case with a Cuban pastor I met who waited five years to see his family. His dependence and strength remained in the Lord. Where else could it be?
Perhaps you are in a season of waiting. Look for strength in His Word. Wait for Him; trust Him. For the Lord preserves the faithful.
