"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
(PSALM 73:26)

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
One day my flesh will fail, and my heart will cease to beat. When that moment comes, God will be my strength. He will be my strength and my portion then just as He has been through every part of my life. He will be and always has been enough; He will forever be the portion that I need.

Think about that as you consider your own life which is but a “mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14). The Apostle Paul also knew what it was to face imminent death. He experienced great suffering in this life, but he did not elaborate on what his “thorn in the flesh” was. I’m glad we were not given more details. For all we know, Paul’s “thorn” may have been exactly what you or I struggle with. And more importantly, knowing almost nothing of Paul’s “thorn” means we know more about the One who took Paul through it.

Trust the unfathomable strength of God which is your portion, which fills you to overflowing, and which will outlast your days on earth and sustain your loved ones who remain behind.
