“Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Hebrews 12:3
To say that Chemotherapy is a challenge is an understatement. There are numerous side-effects that hit every patient differently. Although my cancer was in remission after one month of treatment, my battle with cancer involved a two-year regimen of various chemo treatments. As with a runner in a marathon, the key to persevering is keeping your eye on the prize at the finish line.
In the race of faith we are to fix our eyes on Jesus. Why? No one in history faced a more daunting obstacle than the tortuous suffering and shame of the cross. He persevered by keeping His eyes on “the joy set before him” at the finish line. Beyond the cross was the resurrection, redemption, and reconciliation… and you! Beyond the cross was a seat at the right hand of God where He would pour out the Holy Spirit and pray for you.
What are your obstacles? Illness, disability, fractured family, loneliness? The list could go on. The key for all of us is to fix our eyes on Jesus and the cross where our redemption and future are secured.
