“Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house…For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.’”

Luke 19:9-10
One of my favorite Bible stories from childhood was the story of Zacchaeus. Maybe you too still remember the song we sang about Zacchaeus, “a wee little man.”
This poor guy wanted to see Jesus, but because he was short, he was stuck behind the crowd with no view at all. Not only that, but the crowd did not care. Zacchaeus did not let his size hinder his getting a look at the one people were calling Savior. So great was his desire to see Jesus that he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a tree. He may have been the shortest man in the crowd, but now he had the best seat in the house! And remarkably, Jesus noticed him and wanted to spend time with him.
I was one of those unnoticeable kids who was always stuck behind the crowd. Have you ever felt unnoticed? Invisible? Hidden? No one is invisible to Jesus. He knows all our hidden secrets, weaknesses and failures, but He still wants to draw near to us. So run ahead and climb a tree—or do what it takes! Jesus came to seek and to save what was lost.
