“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19
Paul speaks in this passage about worry for the future, about experiencing hunger, and about being in want. Any of us today can relate while our economy feels unstable, unemployment rates rise, political situations create disillusion, and global issues threaten peace. When we are in adversity, our need is most evident.
In all the extreme situations of Paul’s need he says that still “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (v. 7). Along with Paul, we can learn to be content in our circumstances (see v. 11) and embrace with confidence the assurance that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (see v.13).
Even in need, Jesus Christ is your all in all. His deep and real love for you casts out fear in anxious situations. He is your bread of life when you are hungry; He is your strength when your body is weak in illness. The light of Christ shines most brightly to others when you take your comfort in Him.
