INSIGHT

God is not a man -- He is not weak or fickle. He loves you and He loves the worst, the dirtiest, the most violent. We all need His love, and it's ours for the taking -- equally.

ANCHOR DEVOTIONAL - GOD LOVES US ALL THE SAME

"God so loved the world that he gave. . . ." (John 3:16). "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation" (Acts 10:34-35).

We sometimes have strange ideas about God's love. For example, we can't accept that His love is distributed equally to all. We may think that God loves a starving orphan more than He loves a brilliantly successful entertainer. He loves a political prisoner much more than He loves the despot who put him away. Our understanding of God's love is limited to our feelings of love. We're wrong. The depth of God's love is beyond us.

I've heard so many people say, "God doesn't love me." "What did I do to have God treat me like this?" Maybe you are questioning His love even as you read these words.

God is in love with every human. Nothing you can ever do will stop His love for you. His love keeps reaching, keeps flowing, climbing over dishonesty, murder, hatred, adultery, cancer, fear, and death. Wherever you go, whatever you do, God's love will be there. God does not love you less than anyone else. His love is the same for everyone. Because He is God, He can love equally.
