        Praise Prayers

“We may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.” (Psalm 106:47-48)

The most important lesson we can learn is how desperately we need God. He created us to depend on Him. He is everything we need, and He loves to hear us praise Him for His perfect character.

When we focus on our problems, we feel defeated. When we praise God, we fix our minds on His character, and we find victory.

Instead of crying to God about our needs, we should praise Him for His sufficiency. Instead of focusing on our loneliness, we can praise Him for His omnipresence. We are weak, but He is strong. We need not fear, for He is our Protector. Instead of feeling confused, we can seek His wisdom.

According to Dick Eastman, President of Every Home for Christ, the word “glory” in Psalm 106:47, “suggests an almost ecstatic shout of victory over a defeated foe.” Certainly, God’s character defeats Satan. As His children, we can shout “glory” in praise to the only true and living God.

“O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy” (Psalm 67:3-4).
