Series Title: Where Jesus Walked
Title: The Tomb is Empty

The first final solution of the Jews failed to become a holocaust in 356 BC. It’s called Purim, celebrating the victory of the Jews over Haman in Esther. Listen to words from Iran and they would have us believe another holocaust is in the making.
Swell
Purim is a Jewish festival beginning today here in Israel, celebrating the victory of the Jews over Haman’s “final solution” 2300 years ago in Persia, which is modern day Iran. But in 2012, Israelis are taking seriously the building of a nuclear weapon and the words of the Iranian president are haunting, that Israel is quote “Little Satan” and by implication, the United States is “big Satan”. Welcome to HAVEN Today, I’m CM in Jerusalem sharing the GS that’s all about Jesus. What a contrast on this deceptively childlike holiday. A pre-emptive strike by Israel against Iran is in the minds of all, even as families gather in the synagogues to hear the colorful Purim story of Queen Esther and her adoptive father, Mordechai. There’s a happy feeling in the streets with children running around in costumes delivering baskets full of goodies all over the neighborhood and extra relief is given to the poor.
In a few minutes we’re going to a quiet, peace place in Jerusalem above the Arab bus terminal, by the old Roman road from Jerusalem to Jericho. Its place that historically has been called Golgatha. But first, wouldn’t it be amazing to worship with the early church and first century Christians, to sing praises with those who knew him face to face. Worship that transcends this generations and reaches down to the roots of our faith. That’s The Odes … the earliest hymns of the Christian church outside of the New Testament.
